Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia The Youth Council empowers young people in Macedonia by providing a platform for ideas, projects and more. It also has an advisory role to the US Embassy. “I am 26 years old and I am from Shtip. Ever since my early years, my favorite toy was an improvised microphone. I wanted to become a journalist. When I grew up and the time came to decide what to choose as my education, a very close and dear person to me said: “You cannot be a journalist, you haven’t read enough books to work in that profession”. I was discouraged and changed my mind. I enrolled in a faculty that I still haven’t finished. But, people say: “Be careful what you wish for, it may come true”. I accidently found a job in a company that owns a media outlet and my wish eventually came true. Now, my only goal is to share inspiring and positive news. Today, we hear about these kind of news the least!”
