Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia The Youth Council empowers young people in Macedonia by providing a platform for ideas, projects and more. It also has an advisory role to the US Embassy.
Today, the Youth Council of the U.S. Embassy of Macedonia together with the City Red Cross in Skopje and The Association Zhivotna Iskra visited the women undergoing any type of cancer treatment at the Clinic for Radiology and Oncology.
With the funds we previously collected from the “Love Notes 2017” concert two weeks earlier, we bought gifts for 100 women patients. We were privileged to meet such strong and courageous women and help put a smile on their face. Room after a room, we shared and received lots of love and let the women in this clinic know that they are not alone in their battle. Their smiles brightened the hallways of the Clinic, shedding a new light for hope.
The U.S. Ambassador, the honorable Mr. Jess Baily along with his wife, Mrs. Capie Baily, took part of this wonderful event and spoke with these amazing women to hear their stories. Through their encouraging dialogues, Mr. Jess and Cappie Baily wished them a quick recovery and a healthy future.
Once again, we would like to thank everyone that took part on this generous event and for helping to raise awareness about cancer. We hope that this event will encourage people to take part of similar activities and support the battle against cancer each day of the year.
